Desalination is a natural continuous process, which is essential for the water recycling. If we were to consider rain or snowfall on ground, which finally flows either into the sea or goes back to the atmosphere through evaporation or percolates into the sub-soil, is a process of natural desalination. Living beings use this water directly from rain or from river, lakes or springs. When the surface water travels down towards the sea it dissolves minerals and other materials and becomes salty. Once it flows into the oceans, natural evaporation removes part of the water into the atmosphere as clouds, while remaining water available in the ocean becomes very salty. The evaporated water from the ocean is restored back to the earth in the form of rain or snow, which again goes back to the ocean and the cycle, continues.

The world has total of 1.65 billion km3 of water. However, only 0.3 of the total quantity is theoretically useable as fresh water and only 10% of the quantity, that 0.03% is capable of economical utilization. Aman Water Tech are now occupied in the development and promotion of sea water desalination technologies such as evaporation, reverse osmosis process, and in particular it consumes the least amount of energy with the application of the state-of-the-art technology, (i.e.) Energy recovery booster system or pressure ex-changers system and is easy to operate and maintain. It is the most sought after technology for desalination of sea or saline water.

All sea water desalination units utilize the state-of-the-art’s latest generation sea water compatible thin film composite polyamide membranes. The Reverse Osmosis block is built as a compact and rugged skid with aesthetic piping. We offer an option of stainless steel / FRP housing for the membranes. The piping for the RO systems is available in normal SS 304 / SS 316 to higher versions like electro-polished stainless steel for specific applications.

The sea water desalination system incorporates a standard turbo-based energy recovery device to achieve maximum energy saving. The turbo-based energy saving device is coupled with the high pressure booster pumps and comes in a sea water compatible duplex stainless steel material of construction. All wetted parts for the pumps and the turbo device have been tested and proven under severe operating conditions in sea water desalination all over the world.

The basic versions are offered with a manual option with online monitoring instrumentation with all safety interlocks. A completely pre-wired control panel and an electrical switch gear panel. The basic versions can be easily upgraded to a high level of automation with either a PLC based control system or SCADA based control system.
